If No One Is Around To Hear You Moan.

The latest episode of Bones saw our meticulously groomed crime fighting duo delving into the murky underground of overpriced education and bougie values. Booth begins to feel insecure about his son's education when he investigates a murder at a $28,000 a year private school. I thought it was established in Season 1 that Booth did in fact attend an overpriced private school, but maybe I missed something. He feels bad, Brennan extols the virtues of private education, and I yawned. Literally.

I have to ride the bus with some kids that go to the $28,000 a year Northwest School. You may remember these boy wonders. The ones that spent the entire ride discussing the meaning of the word inane. None of them could figure it out, or understood that they could prolly look it up on their mobile. The future is chilling. Investing in it may cost a tidy sum, but it's chilling nonetheless.

About to throw myself into the belly of the beast this holiday season. Still trying to decide where I should begin. Pacific Place or U Village? Can't decide. Although I'm thankful (too late I know) that I'm not at the "Happiest frakin place on Earth." Like my bro. Some dude got trampled to death in Walmart. I'm sure the tragedy won't put the mega retailer out of business. But it should. It really really should.

On Your Mark.

Get Set.

Spend.

If I Were The Only Boy In The World.

Chills. I got actual chills down my spine during the last episode of Bones wherein Booth declared that this "is the United States of America". He was referring to a plane I know, but it was effecting nonetheless. I squealed a bit, and then I got self conscious and I buried my face into a pillow. I'm a little ponce that way. Sensitive and such.

I Will Haunt Your Beauty.

Where do I start? Bus was vicously late yesterday morning, and despite my protest the driver insisted he was on time, and it was the other bus that was "missing". I really couldn't argue. I told him to frack himself and I took my seat. I couldn't blog about the new Los Compesinos! album yesterday which I am digging, but not as much as the other one. But that was yesterday and there are newer things today.
I must be the only person on my bus that does not have an iphone. Everyone on my bus is always texting, or scrolling, or dragging or dropping. The pretentious nit next to me this morning made a point of "reading" on his iphone. I must admit I felt the total rube sitting there with my codex. It was like a scene from The Diamond Age really.
I have a potluck tomorrow which I think we all know is some native american saying for "too cheap to cater" but Compadre has given me a recipe and I think I'm going to give it my best effort. The theme of the potluck is the Northwest or Seattle so everything I imagine is going to have smoked salmon in it.
Don Wakamatsu has been named Mariner's Coach. Which is nothing at all like the Duke of Buccleuch, but it is baseball, and in my own opinion he redefines middle aged sexiness in a single breath. And that breath sounds like sigh.
Got to the office and my telephone is already blinking at me. People on the east coast really need to get a clue. We are actually, not figuratively, three hours behind you. My ass was in bed dreaming of ass sex when the towers fell yo. Get it? Whatever, I have to earn my keep. Lates.

I Can Make It Through Upset.

Still picking up the pieces of the last emotionally devastating episode of Bones. I know I should just move on, but sometimes it's just hard.

I did pick up a copy of Boys in the Band which was finally released on DVD. Amazon DID NOT notify me via email when it became available for order. I found out in a local rag, and had to walk down to my local shop to buy it. Once outside the shop I had to cross Broadway for some groceries, but there were thousands, literally thousands of protesters marching against California's Proposition 8. I was dumbfounded. I just stood there holding my piece of Queer Cinema watching all the people make an appalling fuss. I really liked the "Str8 Against Hate" signs. Actually I didn't. They should mind their own fracking business and let me cross the street. Make babies and shoot each other, or whatever the hell it is they do. I need a cook and a chamber maid. Not a husband.
On an altogether unrelated note, I just ate a snickerdoodle, and it does not have Snickers in it.

I'm Sure It's Never The Same.

In a heart wrenching episode of Bones we learn that Booth's father was an abusive alcoholic and his brother is a player on the make with an all too protective older brother. Sigh. I found the whole episode a little gutting and disconcerting. Not quite as disconcerting as my cat insisting on carrying my socks to every corner of the house before they land in the clothes hamper, but we all address the issues we think we can handle.

Speaking of issues we can handle. I was bemoaning the dowdy, frumpy, underdressed mopers I have to contend with on a daily basis, and Compadre hits me back with "Yo, I hung out with Mos Def last night at the Roosevelt". Now I know everyone has hung out with someone moderately famous at the Roosevelt. It's the equivalent of "doing it" at a drive in or buying something you can't afford at Fred Segal, but hanging with Mos Def is pretty chill and I was seriously hunting for more sympathy than that. And by the way, shouldn't Compadre have been studying for some test or something???

Waves of emotion. Waves dude.

A Fervent Desire Gone Nowhere.

The Tudors is on Tuesday nights @ nine on CBC. Another example of how the Canadians get things right. Although I will not go totally off the deep end with the Canada pride thing. They would not shut up about Rememberence Day.

Bones is on tonight so happy Bones day, but there is also some special on KCTS about the English Monarchy airing at the same time. I think KCTS may have read my blog and has decided to frack with me. No worries. Bones is better online because you have the pause feature. For those moments when you need to take a moment. So far cable is treating me alright. The best part is I get it for $2 off my internet a month. Savings.

Fractions Of Infinity.

I snagged Convivial by Luomo this weekend, and everything I had read and heard about it was a fantastic understatement. These sounds came bellowing out of my apartment all weekend long, and they will be pumped into my brain throughout the day as well. I quite forgot for a moment that I had any other kind of music.

I finally had cable installed in my flat, and the only thing I have managed to watch is CBC which I think stands for the Canadian Broadcast Company. I roused early Sunday morning, and wanted something on the flickering box. Every channel was trying to sell me something, religion was particularly popular owing to it being Sunday, but CBC was airing a nice program about the African wild dog which was pretty fly. So I haven't explored any of the other channels, but I hear Bravo is quite popular. Steve and Chris is the rage in my household. You watch Steve and Chris? Oh please say you do.

The Forward Rooms.

Good news for the dedicated followers of fashion and myself. One of my favorite Seattle shops has finally started a blog. This is a real boon since Kuhlman is located way way off the retail beaten path, and is smack dab in the middle of helltown crackville. Now I can read of their wares before I venture into the lion's den. I've added the link on the right. I'm super excited to try the House of Cassette jeans. I've been meaning to for a while, but absolutely no spending on myself until after the hollidays. Tis the season for spending money on others. Well, muffin ate my ipod so I may need to spring for a new one, but that's all.

Knole.

Booth was thrust into the high-brow world of contemporary art on last night's Bones. Hilarity and mayhem ensued. And of course the preceding murder. Being crushed to death in a car compactor, and later thrown on a gallery floor. I missed a lot of the episode as I was famished, and was frantically preparing pasta. Luckily I can catch the whole episode (sans commercials) here. And so can you. Enjoy.

The Shrill Cries Of An Angry Mob.

Whoa Whoa Whoa Whoa Whoa. Pony and I were just in the break room enjoying our Jimmy John sammies. I noted how Bones was retuning tonight after a several week hiatus, and she just went off on the acting abilities of Bones’ star David Boreanaz. I was shocked. Taken aback. Suggesting that the stars of Bones were bad actors. Actually not even suggesting. Just flat out stating.

I know not everyone may like all the things I like, but Pony was being just a wee bit of a whipper snapper about this whole acting thing. She knows I’m just shaking with excitement. Can barely contain myself, and she was just having it out on me, but I can always get even with her because I know something about her. Something embarrassing. Something downright silly and unexplainable. Something to make you go huh?

She reads Chuck Palahniuk.

And she’s a grown-up.

Take that all you Bones hating transgressive literature reading wonks. Take it! 8pm Pacific Time on Fox yo!

My Strength And Stay.

All moved into my new place, and I managed to keep the cuts and bruises to a minimum. Lugging things down stairs is a lot of work, and I think I’ve mentioned on this blog before how much gravity can blow, but everything worked out in the end, and I have a much more spacious pad for doing all the salacious things you so wish I may write about.

Speaking of blows, KCTS once again preempted Monarch of the Glen, and the rest of British television, in favor of their ill-mannered and relentless peddling. They have basically lost any chance they ever may have had for a donation. The money I would have spent supporting KCTS is now going to have to go to target.com in order for me to acquire the entire series. As Anonymous D aptly noted, there are seven seasons, and our lives are all drawing to a close.

The election is tomorrow, and I have tried to remain silent about the whole messy affair. There is something gauche about seeming to care about politics. And to speak openly about one’s views is about as tacky as one can be while remaining clothed. But I think we can all agree that it will be nice when this election is nice and well behind us.

For christ’s sake! My email is blowing up here at the office because everyone has to tell the whole office they will be out momentarily tomorrow, and there may or may not be a new flavor of jelly bean. I have to go before I smack someone.

Please take the time to vote! But have the decency not to discuss it.

Thanks.
