A much wider world of resentment.

The one who still thinks he's not gay even though his ersatz beard has even come to accept it made a spectacle of turning the fan on, but only on himself, this morning. It really is always about him, and his gear, and what he's doing on the weekend. Based on the way he relentlessly uses the term passive agressive to describe our boss I think he probably thinks he's being ironic. Which made me chuckle, and spittle up a little espresso on my jumper. The sad thing is that he is actually one of the more acceptable ones.


Every one of them, however, the 'things in the office' as I call them, actually misunderstands the meaning of passive agressive, and I can't really blame them. Being proudly monumentally ignorant, but really into True Detective all the same entitles them to so many misunderstandings, misapprehensions, and missing the fucking points.

It isn't a questions of days, but rather hours, and sometimes minutes, the intervals in which one of them will denounce the boss as passive aggressive.

'Being gently forceful is not the same thing as being passive aggressive' I try to explain as I'm staring into the eyes the a rabidly self-obsessed baboon from Albany, 'I mean the word passive may be coterminous with the term gentle, much like the words aggressive and forceful'. I start to lose him, I mean the monkey thing's eyes start to trail off in a paniced fit, looking for another conversation he can mindlessly direct with monosylabic grunts, and old-timey obscure references nobody gives a shit about, and this mercifully allows me to go back to my work, and forget any of it happened.

The ironic thing is, and I mean that in the actual sense of the word not the widely varyingly misconceived one, is that monkey thing's behavior is actually more characteristically passive aggressive than our boss'es. Complaining about his work, bagging on it, doing work poorly so myself or someone else has to redo it, deliberately sabotaging shit. That's fucking passive aggressive, but far be it for anyone with a JD to pick up a mother fucking DSM-4, and check themselves.
