Nothing Will Make Me Look At You.

That's what I'm talking about..... Oh yeah. Booth is a conservative flag waving Christian on the path of righteousness, and Bones is an arch rationalist with no time for nonsense. Together this mad cap duo conspire to make my evenings something a little bit less than boring. And they quite nearly succeed. Some colossal douche face scheduled our Gubernatorial debates this week at the very same time as Bones. Anonymous D and I were discussing over dinner last night (fried oysters) how some people just DO NOT have their hands on the pulse.

I think I may be back in the situation where I come into work and do nothing. I might be wrong about that, but here I am and I have nothing to do. Ergo I blog.

There is a new retail space just down the street from my work on 1st and oh God i don't know, Senecca let's say Senecca. I noticed it the other day and took a closer look as I drove by this morning. Comme des Garcons, Dries Van Notes, Issey Miyaki, the usual suspects crammed together in a spot called Jack Straw Filaments. Homie that owns it used to work at Butch Blum & Marios so you know it's just gotta blow.

Gonna go look for a function.

Lates..

Combinative Of Both Economy And Politesse.

I find the post Bones ennui almost paralyzing. So I made my mind up quite early on that I was going to pick up a copy of the first season on my way home from work. Baseball is all but over, The Tudors and Galactica aren't going to be on for months. They are going to start airing Monarch of the Glen Season II next week on PBS, but who knows how long that will last.

PBS had my back duing the dark days of giving up smoking. Nova Science Now and the incomparably queeny Carrier were my crutch, but those days are over. And I am not one to wallow around endlessly complaining about objects, ideas, and the most common of all, politics. If I see something I don't like, I look away. If I'm not happy with a situation I find something to lighten my spirit even though I don't believe in such things. You see where I'm going with this I'm sure. Bones! Yay!

Lates!

There is absolutely no point in my being at work. I went back and forth on this issue all morning, and I suppose that since I'm here, and there is nothing for me to really do, I can just sit here and act like I have a function. Drove past lots of shops with names like Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory n' shit.
God I feel sorry for the first person to speak to me today.
Out!

Feel it Jack Like This.

If I were to acquire anything this weekend, it would have been The New Year, and I did... With little effort. Listening to it is not entirely a trip back in time since things have changed very little since the heady days of Transaction De Novo, yet one does get the sense of strumming of the guitar being self consciously raised to an art form. It is quaint to be sure, but altogether effecting.

I secretly harbour, nourish, and ceaselessly defend a desire to write music criticism, and to be taken seriously as a cultural pioneer and shit. And it gets worse.

I'm really having a moody since I recently learned that my ipod may be busted and I may have to get a new one.

Cute!!!!!

I'm going to chuck the myspace for one'sspace.com.

I'm fucking serious!

Fist In The Window.

Things are pretty slow at work today so I decided to go ahead and blog. oops! I just hung up on somebody. I have no plans for the weekend, but I doubt I will be in the mood to blog. I may buy some antiques or something doddering like that.
I was meandering about the internet today and I noticed that Ben Cohen is as cute as ever. No lie. I wish I knew something about rugby. It would be nice to learn the game, but who honestly has the time.
Going somewhere called the Arctic Club Hotel after work for some drinkies, but I doubt I will have a good time. Wah Wah.

God Is Kerosene.

"I never realized her life was so boring?" He said to me.

"Neither did I." I sigh as we start the third hour of Lifetime's life of Coco Chanel. It was pretty dreadful. They ignored all the salacious Vichy Nazi fucking elements of her life, and skipped to her triumphant return in 1954 after more than 10 years off the cultural map. Oh I see.

And other even interesting things were glossed over. And Shirely Maclain was in the movie for all but 2 minutes. Like I said, dreadful.

I think I'm going to see Burn After Reading with Pony. After my morning breakfast, and trip down to the freak show (Farmer's Market) ah yeah.

Oh I Can See It Repositioning.

Yankees games. The first night we were peppered with foul balls, and everyone kept getting up to try and catch a ball that flew 40 feet over their heads. Silly. The second night Derek was stuck right smack on the other side of the left field foul pole. Damnation. I also handed a lady back her tampon after it fell out of her purse. Her and I shared an awkward moment for the rest of the inning. On the third day Sunday matinee we were seated by an oaf of a Yankee fan. Boorish, uncouth, and loud. I admit some of the things he said were funny. Really funny, but I don't think anyone needs to be the loudest voice in the stands. I was amused when he asked me if I liked the Jets oo The Giants. I was speechless. Anonymous D tells me it happens every time they let straight boys into the game.

Oh, and his oh so trill buddy had his blue douche on the entire time. He never actually took a call. He just wanted to rock that shit for the whole game. Not joking.

I finally got to see Mike Mussina pitch in person, and warm up in the bullpen. magnificent. Glorious. It was better than Morrissey. He was ferociously hot from both the front and the back. For the most part, guys look better from the back than the front, but with Mussina I can pretty well take him either way.

Derek hit a solo homo that didn't really matter much in the end. Made the jack-ass sitting next to me spasm.

There really isn't a whole lot I can say about this picture of Derek that doesn't just wax philosophical. And I know some pretty scary big words I can drop when confronted by gorgeousness like that.

So say we all.

There Has To Be An Explanation For This.

Dolly Parton was blaring at the coffee house this morning. Victrola to be precise. Just like you walked into you best friend's drag queen of a roommate's apartment 3 years ago there it was. Jolene, please don't take him just because you can... And if you know Victrola, then you know of whom I speak. Purple, red, shifty black hair, emaciated, no personality. Altogether unoffensive in a serene way. They didn't have the straws I wanted which was just pants.

Enough of that. Over my vacay we drove to Driggs Idaho. A place known for the skiing, and perhaps the snowboarding as well, but I wouldn't know. We tried to find some food. First at this place which served Mexican food. As well as Scotch and Sodas and Port. I was thinking of a quesadilla and a Scotch and Soda, or perhaps a cheese enchilada with a nice port, but we decided to move on...

To this place where we had the most delightful chips and salsa... And nothing else. They refused to take our order. It was like a townie thing I think. I'm fairly sure the name of the place was Guadalajara if you can believe that.

We finally settled on this place. A bobo's paradise snuggled in the midst of all the new condos. It was called Tony's or something and they served Pizza. More specifically, they served pizza as if you had no idea whatsoever how long it actually takes to cook pizza. Maddening! But the decor was lovely. All these salvaged signs from the old ski resort. They even had a chair lift dangling from the ceiling. I took a picture, but it was dark inside and it didn't really come out.

Later that week I went to the zoo, and saw these two preciouses. I so wanted to see the servals, but they were off giving birth to more servals. Damn damn shoot!

I'm at work now, and they assigned my desk to someone else so I'm in Pony's office doing the puzzle, and blogging. I'm only going to wait until the puzzle is done, and then I think I may head home for the day. Or I may stay here and continue to make money doing nothing. Who knows?

Thought Someone Should Know.

Words, simple one dimensional words, cannot in any way describe how hot Mike Mussina looked last night while pitching against the Devil Rays. Scoring his 17 win of the season is really starting to show in his physique. And Michael is fairly easy on the eyes any day of the week. I sigh.

The girls will be coming to town on Friday, and I am flying back especially to see them. I really do hope Micheal pitches one of the games. He should be pitching on Sunday, but things can happen I know, and if I am deprived of my first opportunity to see Michael pitch in person I will persevere I'm sure.

Derek scored a sacrifice RBI, and RoRo did something quite remarkable, but whoa, Michael was clearly the reason to watch last night.

From That Point On.

I'm in the middle of Idaho. People at work were giving me some grief about my trip, but I just brushed it off as jealously. My summer trips to Idaho are becoming something of a tradition. Usually in August, and lasting for at least a week they usually give me enough time to take in someof the breathtaking beauty of this much maligned state. This trip began with a run for the border. Here you can see the road going down into Jackson, Wyoming about an hour and a half from home.

Once there we took a boat ride on Jackson Lake which was a lot more fun than I thought it was going to be. Naturally afraid of the water I put on my life jacket as soon as I got on board. Since I was the only one over the age of 12 to do so I looked a little out of place. This here is Dollar Island. One of the smaller islands on Jackson Lake it immediately got my attention.

This canyon runs through the Grand Tetons. There is a hiking trail that goes from the Wyoming side to the Idaho side.

Sunset behind the Grand Tetons we really spectacular. Sometime's it's hard to get a good spot with all the shutterbugs.

The following morning and the clouds came in. I hurried to snap a picture of Mount Moran thinking the clouds would lift at any moment during brunch. They didn't. They were a chilly harbinger of weather to come. I didn't have time to do any shopping as we had to rush back to Idaho to meet up with the other half of the family. More on that later...
